PERSPECTIVE FINANCIAL GROUP EXPANDS WITH NINE NEW ACQUISITIONS IN 2025

Perspective Financial Group has kicked off 2025 with strong momentum, completing nine acquisitions so far this year. These latest additions bring the group’s total to an impressive 116 acquisitions to date, reinforcing its position as one of the UK’s most active consolidators in the financial advice sector.

The newly acquired firms contribute a combined £900 million in assets under advice, along with 2,100 client households and four new office locations across the UK—in Stockbridge (Hampshire), Uckfield (East Sussex), Grimsby, and Waltham (Lincolnshire).

The nine firms joining Perspective are:

  • Square One Wealth Management
  • Barrie Hough Financial Services
  • Select Financial Solutions
  • Friendly Wealth Management
  • Clarendon Financial Planning / Clarendon FP
  • Chapter Wealth Management
  • Paul Horton Financial Solutions
  • Inspirational Financial Planning

Ian Wilkinson, CEO of Perspective, commented:

“It’s been a great start to the year. We’re thrilled to welcome our new colleagues and proud to be adding several new offices across the country. With a strong M&A pipeline ahead, we look forward to continued growth in 2025 through our selective and strategic acquisition approach.

The newly acquired firms echoed this enthusiasm, highlighting shared values and a commitment to maintaining service continuity for clients.

Frederick Hervey-Bathurst, Director at Clarendon Financial Planning—now operating as Perspective (Clarendon)—shared:

“We couldn’t be more pleased to join a partner we trust with our clients’ futures. Rising regulatory pressures led us to seek the scale and support of a larger firm, and Perspective was a perfect fit. We’re especially glad that all of our staff are staying on, and we remain in our current offices. Our clients can continue to expect the same integrity, courtesy, and expertise they’ve always known.”

John Kelly, of Square One Wealth Management, added:

“After 22 years of serving our clients, we chose Perspective as a like-minded partner with the resources to help us grow and evolve. Their thorough and thoughtful selection process gave us confidence, and our clients will continue to work with the same team they know and trust—something that’s been very well received.”

With a clear focus on building a national footprint while preserving the independence and legacy of each firm it acquires, Perspective continues to scale its business through purposeful partnerships. The group is actively engaging with both small and large advice firms, and its 2025 growth strategy is well underway.

What this acquisition means for the buyer

Perspective Financial Group’s completion of nine acquisitions in the early part of 2025 demonstrates the scale and pace of its ongoing expansion strategy. By adding £900 million in assets under advice, over 2,100 client households, and multiple new office locations, the group continues to strengthen its national footprint and regional coverage across the UK.

The transactions support Perspective’s wider objective of building a scalable advice business while retaining the local relationships and client continuity that underpin many independent firms. Integrating several businesses simultaneously also reflects the maturity of Perspective’s acquisition model and its ability to manage growth efficiently. Maintaining existing teams and office locations further reinforces the group’s focus on preserving trusted client relationships while providing acquired firms with greater operational support, infrastructure, and long-term succession planning opportunities.

What this means for sellers in the sector

For owners of financial planning firms, these acquisitions highlight the continued demand for established advice businesses from well-funded consolidators seeking strategic regional growth. The transactions also demonstrate that buyers are increasingly focused on cultural fit, client continuity, and retaining experienced staff, rather than simply acquiring assets under advice.

Many advisers are facing rising regulatory pressures, increased operational costs, and succession planning challenges, making partnerships with larger groups an increasingly attractive option. Sellers are often seeking buyers that can provide long-term stability, enhanced compliance support, and broader resources while allowing clients to continue working with familiar advisers. The deal activity also reflects how acquisitive firms are willing to work with businesses of varying sizes as part of wider national growth strategies.

Market trend context

The UK wealth management and financial planning sector remains highly active from an M&A perspective, with consolidators continuing to pursue acquisitions at pace. Regulatory complexity, evolving Consumer Duty requirements, and increasing investment in technology and compliance infrastructure are encouraging many smaller firms to consider strategic partnerships or exits.

At the same time, larger advisory groups are looking to achieve economies of scale, broaden geographic reach, and expand assets under advice through acquisition-led growth. There is also growing emphasis on maintaining local identities and protecting long-standing client relationships following transactions, particularly in relationship-driven advisory markets. This ongoing consolidation trend is reshaping the sector as national groups continue to absorb regional and independent firms.

How Capital & Trust typically supports transactions like this

Capital & Trust supports financial planning firms, wealth managers, and consolidators with acquisitions, mergers, succession planning, and strategic growth transactions across the UK advisory sector. Multi-acquisition growth strategies often require careful coordination, strong transaction coordination processes, and a clear understanding of cultural integration and client retention considerations.

Support can include identifying suitable acquisition opportunities, preparing businesses for sale, managing confidential negotiations, and overseeing transactions through to completion. For sellers, finding a buyer capable of protecting staff, maintaining client service standards, and supporting future growth is often a key priority alongside achieving favourable commercial terms. Capital & Trust works with firms involved in both acquisition and sale opportunities to help deliver successful long-term outcomes in an increasingly active and competitive market.”
