LUDLOW HAS ACQUIRED BLACKPOOL-BASED WEALTH MANAGEMENT FIRM

Ludlow Wealth Management, a subsidiary of Mattioli Woods, a prominent wealth management and SIPP provider, has completed the acquisition of Opus Wealth Management Limited, based in Blackpool. This transaction carries a potential value exceeding £1.4 million.

Ludlow, headquartered in Southport, will initially disburse £0.71 million, with an additional £0.71 million contingent on meeting performance milestones within one-year post-acquisition. The total transaction could reach £1.42 million if these targets are successfully achieved.

Opus Wealth Management Limited specialises in offering financial planning and wealth management services to approximately 100 private client families, managing assets valued at approximately £53 million.

For the fiscal year ending on April 30th, Opus reported revenues of £0.37 million, accompanied by a pre-tax profit of £0.14 million. As of April 30th, Opus possessed net assets amounting to £0.10 million.

Ludlow has been steadily expanding its operations recently, as evidenced by its acquisition of Ferguson Financial Management, a Glasgow-based financial planner managing assets worth £80 million, in a transaction valued at up to £1.2 million.

Michael Wright, the Deputy Chief Executive of Mattioli Woods, expressed enthusiasm about Opus Wealth Management joining the Mattioli Woods Group through the Ludlow subsidiary. He emphasised the company’s robust pipeline of opportunities for strategic acquisitions, which will complement their organic growth strategy.

Ian Hemingway, the Chief Executive Officer of Ludlow, emphasised the familiarity and synergy between the Ludlow and Opus teams, anticipating a seamless integration process in the coming months. This acquisition further strengthens Ludlow’s presence in the North West region as they continue to build upon their existing footprint.
