AUGUST EQUITY TAKES MAJORITY STAKE IN THE SUPERBIA GROUP
Private equity firm August Equity has acquired a majority stake in The Superbia Group, a fast-growing wealth management and financial advice business serving more than 2,500 clients across the UK.
The terms of the deal, which included a buyout of existing shareholders, have not been disclosed. Debt financing was provided by private credit specialist Ares.
Superbia is made up of several established advice and investment firms, including Furnley House, a Citywire New Model Adviser Top 100 firm based in Leicestershire with approximately £510 million in assets under advice, led by Stefan Fura. Other firms within the group include Headley Financial Services (Basingstoke), Anchor Wealth Independent Financial Planners (Scotland), and Asset Intelligence, a fund research and discretionary fund management business that joined via merger in 2019.
For the 12 months ending 31 March 2024, Superbia reported £4.7 million in revenue and £86,096 in pre-tax profit, employing a team of around 80 staff. The group also operates a support office in Chennai, India, further expanding its operational capabilities.
Kishan Chotai, Partner at August Equity, commented:
“We’ve been exploring the IFA platform space for the past two years, and from our very first meeting with Stefan and his team, we were impressed by the vertically integrated business they’ve built. Superbia represents a strong foundation for future growth.”
August Equity, known for its investments in the lower mid-market across sectors such as technology, education, and healthcare, also owns AAB, a Scottish accountancy and advisory firm.
The deal was advised by FRP Corporate Finance on behalf of August Equity, while Hill Dickinson acted as legal counsel for Superbia.
With this investment, August Equity aims to help accelerate Superbia’s next phase of growth, supporting its mission to deliver high-quality, integrated financial advice to clients across the UK.
