BENCHMARK CAPITAL HAS ACQUIRED NORTHERN IRELAND-BASED FINANCIAL PLANNING FIRM

Benchmark Capital has purchased Waterhouse Financial Planning who are based in Derry, Northern Ireland, adding over £120m in client assets.

In 2018 Waterhouse partnered with Benchmark and is part of Benchmark’s strategy to expand its own advice business across the UK, but also to support firms on their own through structured efficiency, growth and exit planning.

Waterhouse will provide Benchmark with a presence in NI by keeping the current office in Derry. As part of the deal, the team will remain in the business providing continuity of service to clients.

This acquisition increases the group’s total number of financial advisers to 64 across seven offices in the UK.

Waterhouse managing director Thomas Leonard said: “We are pleased for our clients and the team to become part of Benchmark, which will enable us to further accelerate our ambition to be the leading Chartered Financial Planner in Northern Ireland.”
